OSC Board Members

Diane Metz, Chairperson of the Board

“Not crushed in a building.” That was the mission back in 2010 when Diane and a group of concerned cat-lovers came together to try to save 88 cats in a condemned building on Orange Street that was slated to be demolished. But her love of animals and desire to rescue began long before that. Even in her “regular” life, she blends her Master’s degree in Public Policy and non-profit work experience with her love for animals as Coordinator of the PAWS program at the Albany Damien Center. Diane is currently Chairperson of the Board of Orange Street Cats, Inc.

Dona Beck, Treasurer & Chair of Finance

Dona Beck is a businesswoman with over 30 years in finance. She was the Credit and Customer Service Director for Bergdorf Goodman in Manhattan and retired as a Senior Vice President for TDBank. Dona has been a pet lover all of her life and has been the care taker for dogs, birds, fish, lots of cats and even a skunk. Dona failed at her first foster, keeping Scarlett as her own, but she has finally learned to let her foster kittens go to new loving homes. Dona joined the Orange Street Cats, Inc., Board in 2016 and serves as the Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair.

Chris Pagano

Chris Pagano, Chair of Media & Intake

Chris Pagano has served on the OSC board since she and few friends learned about an abandoned house filled with cats on Orange Street. Like so many, she moved to Albany to go to school and never left. She graduated with an MPA from UAlbany, works for New York State, and lives with her wife Diane in the Delaware Ave Neighborhood. She is good at pilling cats, needs work at kitty nail trimming and was voted most likely to poke herself in the eye with the sparkling wand. Chris serves as Chair of the Media and Intake Committees.

Kate Tumbleson, Secretary & Chair of Foster

Kate Tumbleson began volunteering with Orange Street Cats as a foster mom and adoption volunteer in 2013 and has served on the board since 2015. She originally came to Albany from Greene County to attend SUNY Albany, moved to Australia for 2 years post graduation, and then returned to the area permanently. After a number of years in retail management, she has spent the past 11 years in medical office management enjoying the better hours with weekends & holidays off. She lives in Albany with her partner Tom, who convinced her to get a dog to keep the cats company. Kate is Secretary of the Board and Chair of the Foster Committee.

Tina Reiley, Chair of Adoption

Tina Reiley started volunteering with OSC in 2013 and has served on the board since 2015. An Albany native her entire life, she now works for NYS. She met her now husband Robin in 2008 and they quickly bonded over their love of cats. They live a happily ever after life with their furbabies in Colonie. Not only is their home filled with love, there is also an overabundance of cat hair. Tina is Chair of the Adoption Committee.

James Wezel, Board Member

James Wezel began volunteering with Orange Street Cats, Inc., as a foster dad and clinic volunteer in 2015 and joined the board in 2017. He holds an MPA from SUNY Albany and has been employed in various project and program management positions in New York State agencies for the last fifteen years. As a long time Albany resident but a relative newcomer to the world of animal rescue, he is eager to contribute however he can. James is an integral part of the Finance Committee.

Janice Dean, Board Member

Janice Dean is an environmental lawyer and lifelong animal advocate. In fourth grade, Janice’s cat George followed her to school, making himself at home in the classroom for the next decade. Cats have been following Janice around ever since. Janice joined the board of Orange Street Cats, Inc., in 2017.
